R360 Show 50: On the beach special

This show was inspired while at Drakes Bay, Point Reyes. Sitting on the beach watching the whales play in the bay as the waves crashed onto the beach at sunset. Enjoy!

New show and itunes
Hi all,
I am working on a new show,
I received a question about how i put the show together?
Originally I started building the shows in Logic, I use Garageband now, it’s much quicker. Then I will listen to around 100 songs to get the 5 or 6 that will be the show. The rest depends on where my heads at when I put the songs together, and more importantly, what song works well after the last. This past show was based around the Thievery Corporation and Nightmares on Wax tracks. I looked for music that would work around them. Sometimes I use experiences I have had traveling and Djing, as a shows inspiration, from playing music on a beach at a party, to the drive through the Sinai Desert on a way to a DJ gig in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, or a show will come from a song I have listened to on my ipod while on the BART train, watching the urban landscape pass by getting brief glimpses of other people going about their daily lives, all seeming to be in time with the track playing in my ears.
We all have triggered memory responses, linked to certain songs that move us, playing at the time of our experience. Whether that be something you see on your way to work, walking through a new city for the first time like NYC or Barcelona, strolling along a beach as the sun sets or as you walk away from having an argument with a friend or lover. Hopefully you will all find some of these songs in the show.
Lastly thanks to everyone who downloads the show, and special thanks to all that leave such positive reviews on itunes and other podcast sites, and the emails that I’m sent [see the where? page]. It’s great connecting with people all over the world through music, specially with out the long plane rides and heavy record boxes. Plus you get to take the show with you where ever you go.
